There are also regional archaeologists
for the northwest (Mr.
Jeff Girard), and southeast (Dr.
Rob Mann) portions of the state. Dr. Joe Saunders, regional archaeologist for northeast Louisiana, retired at the end of September 2011 (after 21 years of dedicated service). Dr. Fran Hamilton is the interim regional archaeologist for the northeast. Additionally, there is a station
archaeologist for the Poverty Point State Historic Site (Dr.
Diana Greenlee), and an archaeologist for the Greater New Orleans
Archaeology Program based at the University of New Orleans (Ms.
Andrea White). |
